Markilux Planet Freestanding Awning

The markilux planet is a striking freestanding awning system designed for outdoor spaces where wall-mounted shade is not possible, practical or preferred. Combining the flexibility of a parasol with the strength and coverage of a folding-arm awning, it creates elegant shade for open patios, gardens, poolside areas, terraces and hospitality spaces.

Supported by a slim central column, the planet can be fitted with a compatible markilux folding-arm awning to provide a generous shaded area without needing to fix the system to the building. This makes it ideal for hard-to-shade spaces, detached seating areas or open areas where shade is needed away from the house.

The fixed version provides reliable shade in one chosen direction, while the planet flex version can rotate by up to 335° using the Easy-Go lever. This allows the awning to be adjusted as the sun moves throughout the day, helping you enjoy shade for longer without constantly rearranging your outdoor space.

Depending on the awning model selected, the markilux planet can shade areas of up to 18m², with compatible awnings available up to around 6 metres wide with a 3 metre projection, or 5 metres wide with a 3.5 metre projection. Optional extras such as Shadeplus can provide additional low-sun protection and privacy, while selected awning models can also include integrated LED lighting for evening ambience.
